Fourth Dynasty

Refers to the period in Egypt from about 2575 to 2465 BCE. The period is known as the classic period of the Old Kingdom particularly for the great pyramids built at Giza. Sculpture is characterized by firmly established representational conventions including a canon of proportions, and overall high technical standards.
