Overview

Candid portrait of a small Maori group, presumably a family, seated on the ground in front of a thatched whare.  They are all looking at the camera. The group consists of a young man wearing a hieke (rain cape), and four children, although the two girls at right could equally be young women.  There is a fence behind the whare, and several carved stocakde posts just beyond the fence.
