Torbay

Resort district on the southern Devon coast; incorporating the towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham, about 25 square miles; became a unitary authority in 1998; site of ruins of 12th-century Tor Abbey and the Spanish Barn, legendary refuge of the survivors of the Armada.
